Our wellness center provides you with basic medical, dental, optometry (eye), and mental health services for free.

At no cost to you or your family, Job Corps provides any materials and supplies (i.e., books, workbooks, testing materials, specialized safety equipment) you’ll need to complete your academic and career training programs.

If you need child care while at Job Corps, you may have the option of deducting $5, $10, or $15 from your living allowance for child care. Regardless of the amount you allot, Job Corps will match five times your contribution.

For example, when you contribute $5, the center contributes $25 for a total allotment of $30. A check for the total allotment will be sent to your child’s caregiver.

Philadelphia Job Corps provides the basic uniforms and specialized safety equipment necessary to complete your career training program. Once you have been in Job Corps for 30 to 90 days, you will be eligible to receive a clothing allowance of $100 to purchase additional personal items.

Students within 90 days of graduation can receive an additional $125, and students who enroll in Advanced Training are eligible for an additional $100.

Job Corps pays you a living allowance in cash twice a month. New and re-admitted students receive an arrival payment of $25. After that, the amount of your base pay depends on the number of days you are eligible for payment. For days 1–182, you receive $45 every 2 weeks. After 183 days, pay is increased to $70.

Just as with a real job, taxes are deducted, and you’ll receive a W-2 at the end of each year.

Nutritious and well-balanced breakfast and lunch meals are prepared daily in the center’s cafeteria at no cost to you.

Philadelphia Job Corps provides you with transportation to and from our campus.
